Really fun game in the same vein as classic beat-em-ups, especially games like River city rampage, with great art and great action. Why doesn't this then get my recommendation? The game crashes EVERY TWO LEVELS for no discernible reason. When it happens once, that's something I can overlook. When it happens 10 times.... I'm going to uninstall the game and give it a big thumbs down.Maybe you'll have better luck than I had...... One of the better "Beat'em up" games I've played. Crisp cartoon'y graphics with well-designed characters. The reward/upgrade/challenge ramp feels about right, with many different items to upgrade. The stages change quickly enough to stay fresh and the little bit of story doesn't drag on, but rather adds short humorous banter between stages for a few seconds.On the down-side, I'm missing two things I enjoy about this genre: Bosses: While some harder enemies are introduced every couple stages, and usually first show up as the last enemy of a stage, they don't feel very epic or boss'y. I've probably only progressed through half the story progression, but in that time, there were no comic-style intros or large health bars, arising out of the explosion that brought a huge boss onto the battlefield. None of that stuff, but maybe the games saves boss stuff for the end?Interactive Environments: Sure, there's the generic stuff: trash cans, barricades, mall kiosks, cars... but they're all a single frame images, outlined with a black line, as if to say "destroy me for a couple coins". If items could be damaged (3 - 6 frames) or used on the battlefield (i.e. projectiles to hit towards enemies), that would add a lot of fun to this game. There's just not a lot to do, other than "Beat 'em up", whereas games like Turtles in Time and the SNES Bevis and Butthead game (among dozens of other good examples, I'm sure) had plenty of fun things to play with while you were doing the beating up.Overall, a fun game which I'll probably put another couple hours into, to complete and three-star all the levels. (which makes me want to add "too easy?"). Turned this game on, next thing I knew 3 hours had gone by. Plugged in my Xbox One Controller and everything worked great.Love the artstyle and music.Lots of replayability if you want to max stars everything. Tons of upgrades to level up. If your on the fence about it, its only 5 bucks. Try it out. If its on sale just buy it already.Ill be gifting this one out to friends who like brawlers.. It's not too hard to make a Streets of Rage spoof but it's hard to make one that stands out among the innumerable spoofs, homages, and rip-offs out there. Big Action Mega Fight! tries to be funny and cute but comes across as obnoxious and quickly gets very boring with it's bland, lifeless and repetitive levels, a tiny amount of characters, and forgetable music. The moves are very basic with only punching and a few silly specials available. There's no kicking, no grappling, no jumping, and no combos.At 38 levels across various parts of a city it's mercifully short and works fine as a casual game to eat up five or ten minutes here and there. But once you finish this you'll never think of it again. The achievements do not pop on-screen nor do they tally in the stats, so you'll never know where you stand with some of the grinding achievements, meaning you have to revert back to the Steam overlay to check, which is annoying.At this price point, I can't complain, but a classic is certainly ain't.. Big Action Mega Fight! is a game that I recommend because:- is a method to banish boredom- it has trading cards- it has action- it is indie Enjoy!. Eh, it's really a tough call.Without a doubt, the best part about this game is the wonderful artwork and charm. The game has really charming characters and designs, and it has a really good sense of humor. The art is crazy expressive, well animated, and it's just perfect for a Beat 'em Up. That being said, this game isn't really that great of a Beat 'em Up.The controls are fine. They're responsive, and everything works as it should. Playing the game feels alright, but it overall just lacks substance. Games like Scott Pilgrim vs The World or Final Fight give me enough to keep coming back to them, but I don't really see myself playing this for too long on my PC. Levels are super short, and apart from sometimes introducing a new enemy, don't really differ to much from each other. I know this is a PC port of a mobile game, and to be fair, this game is great at being a mobile game. The issue here is that the game didn't change at all from transitioning from mobile to PC apart from the ability to use a controller. Heck, there's not even a multiplayer option, which is a huge missed opportunity. Beat 'em Ups are a lot more fun with another person, and there's a pretty great second player character design that's just not being utilized. I wouldn't call the game a waste of money or anything, it's super cheap and you're getting a lot of charm from it, but it's just not something I really see myself going back to, at least not on my computer. The game definitely feels more suited for mobile devices, so I'd probably recommend playing that version. Even then, I don't think I'd go back to it as often as other Beat 'em Ups.. Too easy, zero chalenge, no bosses... returned the purchase after 15 minutes os play.. Don't buy this
